I am pretty sure this is my hands down favorite drink. I always order it when I go out to a bar, not because everyone makes a good one but because I am always looking for the best one. The other day I had one that had walnut bitters in it. It was delicious.
But my favorite is still the classic done really, really well. To me this is that perfect old fashioned.
It is perfect for warming up on cool night, relaxing after work, celebrating with friends or even drinking at 3:00 in the afternoon on your day off because you needed a good picture and that is when the light was the best. The things I do for you. You’re welcome.
- 1 sugar cube
- Angostura bitters
- 2orange slices
- 2 bourbon cherries
- Club soda
- Orange peel for garnish
- Place a sugar cube in the bottom of a tumbler glass and cover with a few dashes of bitters.
- Add 2 orange slices and one bourbon cherry to the button of the glass and muddle together until the fruit is broken down and the sugar cube has completely dissolved in the juices.
- Add ice to the glass and then top with 2 ounces of bourbon and a splash of club soda.
- Stir together to combine and garnish with another bourbon cherry and the orange peel.
